hot SavvyTV segment is Lynn “Julian”, whose alter ego
is the Cookie Cutter Girl, “a superhero for our times.”
Asked to explain the motif, the vocalist and
rhythm guitarist said Cookie Cutter Girl “packs her girl power pop with
a punch!
I layer girl power lyrics over power pop to create
melodies that will be stuck in your head.”
Her character “frees women everywhere from the mold in which society holds them captive. Are you a Cookie Cutter Girl or did you break the mold? Look out boys, this is guitar rock with girl power!”
She laces her lyrics with infectious
hooks on songs such as
“Get The Picture”, which is the song heard in the SavvyTV video.
The single has appeared on 10 nationally released CDs and
was on Pitt Radio’s Rock Top 10 List for 20 weeks.
Another song, “Jenny”, has been
chosen for the
compilation CD “Glow Boy!”, which also features the
theme song for the TV show “Queer As Folk”.
Performing with her are Peter Doubt on vocals
and lead guitar,
Pat Callahan on bass, and Ray Ray on drums.
Gerald Brann also contributes on keyboards.
Julian is co-cost Veejay on a show called “No Hit Videos” and is featured on EATV. She has been endorsed by Daisy Rock guitars and featured in Music Connection Magazine among others.
All total, Julian says her girl power pop has
been heard on more
than 500 radio and TV stations. Her work has been seen on
MTV, Fuse TV, NHK (Japanese TV), CBS and NBC.
She was also profiled in Rolling Stone magazine.
She’s even marketing a Cookie Cutter Girl comic book co-written with Justine Fontes (Disney, Peanuts, The Wiggles) and produced by Ron Fontes, ex-art director of Marvel Comics.
